Our philosophy
Wines like us!
We work hard to create a bond between our grapes and our terroir – that’s why our wines are so typical of our region. True to their terroir, our wines will take you on a journey to their native land.
Our ethic
We like to try to help our vines gently along, to encourage them to yield the best fruit they can; that’s why we choose to use as little chemical products as possible.
It’s not really surprising, considering the amount of time we spend in the vineyard, that our powers of observation of the vine are quite honed, and we are always on the lookout for a fitting response to the vine’s needs. Although our wines may not be fully organic, respecting the vine’s natural rhythm is important to us. ‘Work in progress’ to us means the time we spend in our vines throughout the year. We live as one with Nature; be it in the vines or in the cellar, we’re in constant pursuit of balance, source of sustainable development and sensory pleasure.
Important dates
Pierre, tell us all about the estate…
- I took over the family estate, which was used for mixed farming (cereal, fruit trees, vines and animal farming) in 1978. I decided to focus on viticulture and reorganised the vineyard. Until 1986, our AOC wines were vinified at the estate and the rest of the harvest was vinified at the local cooperative. It was time to choose between being a totalitarian co-op cellar member or being an independent vinegrower. My choice was easy, I extended the cellar, installed new equipment and vinified my whole harvest.
- My enthusiasm must have been catching, because in 1988 my wife, Anne-Marie, gave up her job as a nurse to train in viticulture and oenology, and join forces with me. She now looks after the commercial and administrative side of things, as well as welcoming clients to the estate.
- 1989, what a year! Our first medal for one of our wines at the Vins de Fronton contest; the beginning of a special relationship between us and our clients.
- Since 1989 we’ve extended the estate, built an air conditioned storage cellar and reception area, and there are now 4 of us working full time on the estate.
